Futurecity share their Public Art strategy for Station Hill

Futurecity are delighted to share their involvement creating a Public Art Strategy for their clients Lincoln Property Company & MGT Investment Management to develop a site-wide public art and cultural strategy for Station Hill in Reading. The 6.5 acre development site will deliver a landmark £750 million regeneration for the city. Futurecity worked as an integral part of the Station Hill team, expanding on the site’s past collaboration and engagement.

On the design considerations, Futurecity worked in tandem with Lincoln Property Company, Cast Consultancy, CallisonRTKL, LDA Design and DPA lighting consultants to define spaces for public art on the exterior of the development’s buildings and throughout the public realm to create a cohesive and awe-inspiring artistic offer for enhanced events and interaction across the scheme.

The goal was to define a mixture of projects that resulted in an ecosystem of culture, filled with temporary and permanent public artworks that weave together a tapestry of cultural experiences with a lasting legacy.
